Case Studies

Boston Children's Museum - Carole Charnow, President & CEO
Dr. Myisha was a member of my seminar at the Institute for Non-Profit Practice. Her depth of experience immediately became apparent during the weekly case presentations. When providing feedback to her colleagues, Dr. Myisha offered clear-eyed analysis, practical and grounded advice, and extraordinarily sensitive communication.
I was fortunate to attend Dr. Myisha’s Ph.D. dissertation and found it to be both erudite and inspirational. She is an outstanding organizational leader, educator and advisor, who will continue to have a substantive impact on her field.

Solihten Institute - Nate Harris, Board Member
I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Myisha to deliver professional development for the Solihten Institute, a national organization that supports 40+ mental health centers across the United States.
As the chair of the Equity & Inclusion Taskforce for the national board, I was tasked with delivering a 5-hour training to the network looking to advance their efforts in building trust within their centers to advance equity. Building Organizational Equity at the Speed of Trust: Where Are We and Where Are We Going? was the Pre-Conference workshop offered by the institute. There were 26 different organizations represented at this training ranging in size with operating budgets of 10 mil+ to 500k.
Dr. Myisha’s involvement from the beginning was tremendous. We had several planning meetings where we discussed the content and flow of the day. Throughout the process, her knowledge of the work and ability to ask the right question, understand the audience and context, and adapt her presentation to meet the audience at the appropriate level was notable. As a licensed mental health provider, she was able to speak to the audience in a profound way. Dr. Myisha created openings for participants to take in the content that was appropriately challenging and created space for leaders to think about the space they create for BIPOC staff and clients. Dr. Myisha provided thoughtful questions for participants to engage in the content and apply the learnings to their local experience. Throughout the 5-hour training, participants were challenged, supported, and encouraged to learn and grow. Dr. Myisha has a unique approach to this work, and we were so grateful to learn with her and from her. While this was an introduction, it was clear that there were several opportunities for further training we were considering from Dr. Myisha that will help our organization continue the journey towards creating equitable spaces.
